Our students had an amazing time at the Eco Hero Assembly, which helped kick off our commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability this school year! Through fun activities, exciting demonstrations, and interactive discussions, students learned how they can be everyday heroes by helping to protect our planet. They discovered simple ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle while learning the importance of caring for the environment. The assembly inspired our students to make positive choices and showed them that even small actions can make a big difference for our Earth!

In addition, our students received a reminder of our schoolwide expectations, known as the Red Hawk Way, during our school rally. These rallies provide an opportunity to celebrate positive behavior, build school spirit, and reinforce the values and expectations that help create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students.

We would like to recognize and celebrate our students' positive behavior through our PBIS Reward Program. Students earn PBIS reward points, which they can redeem for prizes through our Red Hawk Online Store.
If you would like to support this program, we welcome donations of small toys, trinkets, or individually wrapped candy. Please drop off donations at the school office and label them "PBIS."
Your generosity helps us encourage and reward our students' positive choices. We greatly appreciate any contributions and know our students will be excited to receive these rewards! Thank you for your support of our Red Hawks!

Band on the Run
- Grade 5 and 6 students are invited to attend a special assembly to learn about our school music program. During the presentation, students will have the opportunity to explore different band instruments, hear performances, and learn how they can become part of the band. We encourage all interested students to attend and discover the exciting world of music!
8/27 Reclassification Celebration
- We are excited to host a Reclassification Celebration on August 27 at 2:45 p.m. to honor our English Learner students who have successfully met all reclassification criteria and are on their way to becoming Fluent English Proficient students. This is a wonderful achievement that reflects their hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Congratulations to our students on this outstanding accomplishment!
09/02 Back-to-School Night
Don't forget to join us for Back-to-School Night! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about your child's classroom, academic program, daily routines, and expectations for the school year. We look forward to partnering with you to support a successful and rewarding year for your student.
- Please arrive at 5:15 p.m. to learn more about our PTA and its plans for the school year. We will introduce our teachers at 5:30 p.m., and classroom doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
- To accommodate families with multiple children, we have scheduled two classroom sessions:

Session 1: 6:00-6:25 p.m.

Session 2: 6:30-6:55 p.m.
This schedule allows parents and guardians with more than one student to visit two different classrooms. We look forward to seeing you there and partnering with you for a successful school year!
09/04 Coffee with Principal
- Our first Coffee with the Principal will be held in the Maker Space on Friday, September 4 at 8:15 am. This informal gathering is a great opportunity for families to connect with school leadership, learn about our school's goals and priorities for the year, and engage in meaningful conversations about student success. Most importantly, parents will have the chance to ask questions, share feedback, and discuss any ideas or concerns that can help strengthen our school community.

Morning Supervision
- For your child's safety, please do not leave students unattended at the blue gate before 7:40 a.m., as there is no staff supervision available during that time. The school cannot assume responsibility for students who arrive before supervision begins.
- Students may arrive as early as 7:10 a.m. if they plan to eat breakfast, as our breakfast program is open at that time. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us ensure a safe environment for all students.

Electronic Devices
- Per district policy and the Parent Handbook, all electronic devices, including smartwatches, cell phones, and smart glasses, must be turned off and kept in students' backpacks during the school day.

Our District has kicked off its 4th year of the Attendance Improvement Campaign! We encourage all families to make every effort to schedule absences only when necessary. When students miss school, they miss valuable instruction, classroom experiences, and opportunities to learn that can be difficult to make up. Regular attendance is essential for academic success and helps students develop positive habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.
This year, students have the opportunity to earn some exciting incentives, including:
- 🏆 A trophy each trimester
- 🍔 An In-N-Out Truck celebration
- 🍦 A Bruster's Ice Cream Truck celebration (NEW this year!)
Students who are at risk of chronic absenteeism may be required to meet with Mrs. Wong or Mrs. Allaf to develop an attendance improvement plan and receive additional support.
We are proud to share that our current attendance rate is 98%! Thank you for your ongoing partnership and commitment to getting students to school on time and ready to learn every day. Let's keep up the great work and strive for even higher attendance throughout the year!

This year, we will focus on one Wise Choice each month. We encourage families to help reinforce these important character traits at home so that we can work together as a team to support our students' growth.
Students will be recognized at our rally with a Star of the Month Award for demonstrating our Wise Choice behavior.
