Dear Red Hawk Families

I hope you had a wonderful and restful long weekend.

We had a very successful Back-to-School Night! Our teachers prepared a wealth of information to share with families, and it was great to see such positive interactions and engagement throughout the evening. Thank you to all of our parents and guardians who attended and partnered with us in supporting student success.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to our English Learner (EL) families for participating in last week's English Learner Parent Information Meeting. Your dedication and commitment to your child's education are evident, and we greatly appreciate your partnership. The strong support from our EL community reflects the hard work and achievements of our students each and every day.

We received a wonderful number of nominations, and we look forward to serving and supporting our English Learner students and families throughout the school year.

Congratulations to Our August Stars of the Month!

Beginning this school year, each class will recognize students every month who exemplify our Monthly Wise Choice by awarding them a certificate of achievement.

Our August Stars of the Month were recognized at our rally and presented with certificates for demonstrating outstanding examples of our August Wise Choice: Honesty and Integrity.

Our September Wise Choice is "Choosing to Do and Be Your Personal Best." We look forward to recognizing our September Stars of the Month as they model this important character trait through their actions and efforts each day.

Upcoming Events

4th Grade Sacramento Trip - 09/10 @6pm

Don't forget to join us to learn more about the exciting 4th Grade Sacramento Trip this Thursday, 09/10 at 6pm (MPR)! If your child is in 4th grade, we encourage you to attend and learn about this memorable educational experience. This trip offers students a unique opportunity to explore California's rich history and government while creating lasting memories with their classmates.

September Saturday School - 09/26

Our first Saturday School session will be held on September 26. If your student has one absence, this is an opportunity to make up the missed day while participating in engaging learning activities and enrichment opportunities. We look forward to seeing our students there!

Movie Night - Friday 09/25 @5:30 pm

Our PTA will be hosting its first Movie Night of the year, and we hope you’ll join us! Doors open at 5:30 and be sure to watch for more information coming soon. Concessions will be available for purchase during the movie. We look forward to seeing you there!

Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

Our Red Hawk Online PBIS Store is now open! Be on the lookout for exciting new prizes that your child may bring home as a reward for demonstrating positive behavior at school. We are proud to celebrate and recognize our students for making great choices every day!

We would like to recognize and celebrate our students' positive behavior through our PBIS Reward Program. Students earn PBIS reward points, which they can redeem for prizes through our Red Hawk Online Store.

If you would like to support this program, we welcome donations of small toys, trinkets, or individually wrapped candy. Please drop off donations at the school office and label them "PBIS." Thank you for your support of our Red Hawks!

Important Reminders

Pick Up/Dismissal Reminders:

For the safety of all students, please do not park, drop off, or pick up students in any red curb area, especially in front of the MPR. There is no breakfast drop-off or pick-up permitted in front of the MPR. Students should only be dropped off and picked up at the designated yellow curb areas.

These procedures are in place to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families. When everyone follows our traffic expectations, we can provide a safer arrival and dismissal experience for all. Unfortunately, there have been traffic accidents in the past, and we want to do everything possible to prevent such incidents from occurring again.

Our traffic expectations are outlined in the Parent Handbook (under "Traffic Safety") and have been shared multiple times through ParentSquare. We respectfully ask all families to follow these guidelines at all times to help keep our students safe, even when traffic supervisors are not present.

Electronic Devices

Per district policy and the Parent Handbook, all electronic devices, including smartwatches, cell phones, and smart glasses, must be turned off and kept in students' backpacks during the school day.

Music Class

Our instrumental music classes will begin on Monday, August 31, 2026. We look forward to another wonderful year of music learning and performance opportunities for our students! 🎵🎻🎺

Our first Dine-Out Fundraiser of the year is coming up in September, and we'd love for you to be a part of it. Join the PTA today and help make a difference for our students while enjoying fun community events throughout the year!

Join Hidden Trails PTA Today!

ATTEND TODAY, ACHIEVE TOMORROW

Student attendance will remain a focus at Hidden Trails this year. Regular attendance supports academic success and helps students build strong habits for the future.

Congratulations to our 4th-grade students for achieving the highest attendance rate this week!

Please make every effort to schedule absences only when necessary. When students miss school, they miss valuable instruction that can be difficult to make up.

Students at risk of chronic absenteeism may be required to meet with Mrs. Wong or Mrs. Allaf and develop an attendance improvement plan.

Project Wisdom

This year, we will focus on one Wise Choice each month. We encourage families to help reinforce these important character traits at home so that we can work together as a team to support our students' growth.
