Mrs. Wong's Weekly Update

October 12, 2026

September Stars of the Month

September Star of the Month!

We would like to recognize our Star of the Month recipients, who demonstrated "Trying Their Personal Best" throughout the month of September. Through their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to learning, these students exemplified the positive habits and determination we value at our school. Congratulations to our September Stars of the Month!

Baskin Robbins

Dear Red Hawk Families

We had a wonderful turnout at our Baskin-Robbins Fundraiser and Trunk-or-Treat event! Thank you to all of the parents, students, and families who participated and showed their support for our school community.

Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream Winner
Congratulations to Ms. Bai's class for having the highest student participation rate! Thank you to all of the students and families who participated and helped make this event a success.

Trunk or Treat

Together, we collected a total of 300+ bags, and thanks to your generosity, our students enjoyed an amazing Trunk-or-Treat experience on Friday.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to the families who took the time to design games and decorate their trunks. Your creativity, effort, and enthusiasm helped make this event truly memorable and extra special for our students.
Thank you again for helping create such a fun and successful event for our school community!

Candy Donation Winners:
We had some very fierce competition this year, and it was incredibly to follow the result.  As a result, we have a three-way tie in our Candy Donation Contest.

Congratulations to Ms. Hofmeyer's class, Ms. Chew's class, and Ms. Stouffer's class!

Thank you for your outstanding participation and generosity. As a reward for their efforts, all three classes will be receiving a shave ice party. Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a success!

Dear Red Hawk Families,

Imaginary Machine Follow Up
Please encourage your child to submit their writing to the school office by January 8, 2027, for an opportunity to have their story selected for a performance in February. For additional details and submission guidelines, please contact your child's classroom teacher.

Veterans Day Celebration
As we prepare for our Veterans Day Assembly, we would like to honor the veterans in our school community and thank them for their service to our country.
We invite veteran family members to join us on November 4 for this special event. If you have a veteran in your family, please let our school office know so that we can extend an invitation and recognize their service during the assembly.
Thank you for helping us celebrate and honor those who have served our nation. 🇺🇸

Second Graders Dive into Learning with Not Norman

Our Second-grade students engaged with the text Not Norman this past week. Throughout the week, they participated in a variety of activities, including asking and answering questions about the story to demonstrate their understanding of key details. Students also wrote opinion pieces describing their ideal pet and explaining the reasons for their choice. To celebrate their learning and accomplishments, students created their own fishbowls and took home their very own “Norman” at the end of the week.

Upcoming Events

Grade 6 at Science Camp
Our 6th-grade students will be attending Science Camp this week from Tuesday to Friday (10/13-10/16). Please check for messages from your child's teacher regarding departure instructions for Tuesday. We are excited for our students to have this wonderful learning experience!

CA Great Shake Out - 10/15
The California Great ShakeOut is scheduled for October 15 at 10:15 a.m. Our school will participate in this important earthquake preparedness drill to help ensure that all students understand the proper safety procedures and protocols in the event of an emergency.

Marumage Udon - 10/21
Our next dine-out fundraiser will be at Marugame Udon on October 21, and we look forward to seeing everyone there! Thank you for your continued support. We are currently in 3rd place in the Think N Local Contest, so let's keep up the great work and continue showing our school spirit!

ATTEND TODAY, ACHIEVE TOMORROW

Regular attendance is essential for student success and remains a priority at Hidden Trails. Every school day provides valuable learning opportunities that are difficult to make up when missed.
🎉 Congratulations to our 1st-grade students for earning the highest attendance rate during the week of October 5-October 9, 2026.
Thank you to our students and families for making attendance a priority. Keep up the great work!

Project Wisdom

This year, we will focus on one Wise Choice each month. We encourage families to help reinforce these important character traits at home so that we can work together as a team to support our students' growth.

October Wise Choice: Choose a positive attitude.
I choose a positive attitude, noticing what is good, right, and wonderful in myself and others. I learn to laugh at myself.

Chino Valley Tiered Systems of Support (CVTSS)

We are currently revamping our Schoolwide Expectations to better align with our District's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Stay tuned for our newly redesigned and engaging expectation posters, which will be displayed throughout the school and in key locations across campus soon!

Important Reminders

Pick Up/Dismissal Reminders:

For the safety of all students, please do not park, drop off, or pick up students in any red curb area, especially in front of the MPR. There is no breakfast drop-off or pick-up permitted in front of the MPR. Students should only be dropped off and picked up at the designated yellow curb areas.

These procedures are in place to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families. When everyone follows our traffic expectations, we can provide a safer arrival and dismissal experience for all. Unfortunately, there have been traffic accidents in the past, and we want to do everything possible to prevent such incidents from occurring again.
Our traffic expectations are outlined in the Parent Handbook (under "Traffic Safety") and have been shared multiple times through ParentSquare. We respectfully ask all families to follow these guidelines at all times to help keep our students safe, even when traffic supervisors are not present.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to maintaining a safe school environment for everyone
